Earlier this year we welcomed five new board members to the WISE DFW Board of Directors. We are thrilled to have this group of talented women join us!
As we entered our 5th year as a chapter, this changing of the guard provided the opportunity for the board to examine and expand the board as our chapter has grown and evolved. We are incredibly proud that in just 5 years, we are already one of the larger WISE chapters in the country and don't see a reason to slow down! Here is a bit about the new board members:
Leslie DeGonia is the newest member of the executive team taking on the role of VP-Administration. If you've been to any WISE DFW events in the past few years, you've probably met Leslie! She is currently an Associate at Foley & Lardner LLP in their sports & entertainment sector focusing on mergers & acquisitions and general corporate law.
Melanie (Lanie) Quinn is stepping into the Marketing Chair. A Toronto native that has made DFW home, she was first exposed to WISE DFW while obtaining her MBA in Sport Management at UNT. Now working in the sports tech industry with Stack Sports, she is excited to drive the overall chapter marketing strategies and we are delighted she is bringing her project management and tech expertise to help steer the next era for the chapter!
Kate Okiomah relocated to DFW this past year after having been part of WISE Seattle for a number of years. As the owner & founder of her own communications consulting company, KO Communications, we couldn't be more excited to have her join the board as the Membership-Communications Chair Kate's expertise and years of global experience in the sports industry are a perfect fit for our growing chapter.
Kelly Carney is not new to WISE DFW. She was among the group of women that saw the lack of a metroplex chapter as an issue and helped drive change. She was an original founding board member and has since served in an advisory capacity the last few years. We are ecstatic to welcome Kelly back in the Partnerships Chair role where she is focusing on in-kind and non-team partnerships to fuel continued growth of WISE DFW.
